Answers to common questions about peptides and our platform.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids (typically 2–50) linked by peptide bonds. They occur naturally in the body as hormones, neurotransmitters and signaling molecules. In biomedical research, therapeutic peptides are synthetic or recombinant molecules designed to mimic or modulate natural biological processes — from tissue healing to metabolic regulation.
Lyophilized (powder) peptides should be stored refrigerated (2–8 °C), away from light. After reconstitution (dissolving in bacteriostatic water) peptides are less stable and must be refrigerated and used within a few weeks. For long-term storage we recommend a freezer (-20 °C).
Peptides and steroids are fundamentally different classes of compounds. Anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) are synthetic testosterone derivatives that bind to androgen receptors. Peptides instead act through specific membrane receptors and signaling pathways. They generally have more targeted effects, shorter half-lives and a milder side-effect profile.
The most widely studied peptides include: BPC-157 and TB-500 (regeneration), semaglutide and tirzepatide (metabolism), GHK-Cu (anti-aging), Selank and Semax (neuroprotection), and CJC-1295 with Ipamorelin (growth-hormone secretion). Detailed scientific reviews of each are available in our article database.
